BEIRUT, July 02 (YPA) – Lebanese MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, called on the Lebanese authorities to abandon a policy of concessions, arguing that it serves Israeli interests.
In remarks from Parliament, he urged them to adhere to the principles of the National Pact and the Lebanese Constitution.
Fadlallah said continuing this approach would, in his view, place the authorities at odds with the majority of the Lebanese people and risk undermining national unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
He said opposition to the proposed framework agreement reflects a commitment to preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and full authority over its territory, adding that no state institution has the right to relinquish national rights protected under the constitution, including the liberation of occupied land and the return of displaced residents to their villages.
Lebanese MP also called for strengthening the Lebanese state through a comprehensive national security strategy that makes use of all available national capabilities.
He said southern Lebanon should not become a testing ground for Israel or for unsuccessful government policies.
Fadlallah further asserted that Israeli occupation would ultimately be compelled to withdraw from Lebanese territory due to the resilience of the Lebanese people and the sacrifices made during the aggression.
He also argued that Iran’s support provides Lebanon with leverage in indirect negotiations, accusing the Lebanese authorities of failing to take advantage of that opportunity.
