SANAA, June 19 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning forecast scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across several governorates over the next 24 hours, with hot to extremely hot weather expected in desert, inland plateau, coastal and lowland areas.
In its weather bulletin, the center said thunderstorms, possibly accompanied by hail, are expected over parts of Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Mahwit and Hajjah, as well as the Tihama plain.
It added that scattered rainfall, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms, is expected over parts of Amran, the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, western Sanaa and Saada, as well as parts of Mahra and Hadramout coasts and southern Bab al-Mandab.
Meanwhile, hot to extremely hot conditions are expected to prevail in desert areas, inland plateaus, coastal plains, and lowlands.
The Center warned citizens in rain-targeted areas against staying in flood passages or crossing valleys and reefs during and after rainfall.
Residents in desert and coastal regions were urged to take precautions against soaring temperatures, with advice to stay hydrated and avoid direct sunlight during midday.
