OCCUPIED PALESTINE, June 15 (YPA) – The Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) on Sunday released its annual report on Israeli society, revealing signs that point to growing concern over public opinion trends within “Israel.”
The full findings of the report are scheduled to be presented during the institute’s annual conference, which opened on Sunday in occupied Quds (Jerusalem”, according to Israel’s public broadcaster Kan 11.
The report found that 55% of Israelis view internal polarization and domestic rifts as the most significant threat to the country, ranking it higher than external dangers like Iran’s nuclear program, which ranked second at 23%.
It also highlighted mounting fears over deepening social divisions, with six in ten Israelis believing there is a real risk of internal violence that could escalate into civil war.
The findings further revealed declining confidence among secular Israelis regarding the country’s future, with nearly half stating that they no longer see “Israel” as the best or safest place for future generations.
On the issue of military conscription, the report showed a sharp divide among different segments of society. While nearly 80% of Israelis support mandatory military service for all citizens, 79% of the ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) community oppose compulsory enlistment, including under proposed frameworks.
The report also found that the Haredi community recorded the lowest level of social cohesion compared to other population groups, reflecting persistent and widening social gaps within Israeli society.
