Trump: US will resume attacks on Iran tonight

WAHINGTON, June 10 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump sharply escalated his rhetoric toward Iran, announcing that the United States intends to carry out “large and powerful” strikes against the Islamic Republic amid a new surge in military tensions between the two sides.

In remarks to reporters on Wednesday evening, Trump said Iran had “prolonged negotiations far beyond what was necessary,” adding that the time had come for Tehran to “pay the price.”

When asked to clarify what that price would entail, he responded: “We’re going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard.”

Despite the threats, the US president stressed that Washington still seeks a diplomatic agreement with Tehran, saying: “We want a successful deal, and we’ll see what happens. We are very close to reaching an agreement.”

Trump also referred to ongoing diplomatic efforts mediated by Pakistan, noting that Islamabad is continuing its attempts to persuade Iran to move toward a political settlement aimed at ending the crisis.

The remarks came after a night of intense exchanges of strikes between the United States and Iran, as indirect negotiations continue between the two sides in an effort to reach a deal that would end the conflict that began in February 2026 and secure the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while safeguarding international shipping in the region.
