Gaza Health Ministry: Israeli occupation forces arrest paramedics, continue targeting medical system

GAZA, June 09 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health condemned on Tuesday the Israeli occupation forces’ arrest of seven Palestinian Red Cross Society paramedics on Salah al-Din Street while performing their humanitarian duty of transporting the wounded, considering it a direct violation of international conventions and norms.

In a press release, the ministry explained that the occupation authorities later released five of them after harsh interrogations, while two remain detained.

The ministry emphasized that targeting crews and obstructing their work constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, warning that the continuation of these practices worsens the deterioration of the health situation and puts the lives of the wounded at grave risk under the exceptional conditions in the Gaza Strip.
