ICRC warns Gaza civilians still facing daily deaths, hardship despite ceasefire

GAZA, June 06 (YPA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Friday that civilians in the Gaza Strip continue to face severe hardships, noting that deaths and injuries occur daily amid ongoing Israeli aggression.

In a post on the X platform, the ICRC stated that the lives of civilians in Gaza are still full of challenges, adding that despite a ceasefire, violence persists, leaving people killed, wounded, and displaced on a daily basis.

The organization stressed the importance of upholding humanitarian principles and ensuring that civilians in Gaza are able to live with dignity and safety.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 947 people have been killed and 2,935 injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, describing the figures as violations of the agreement.

The ceasefire followed a prolonged conflict that lasted more than two years, though reports continue to indicate ongoing violations and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the territory.
