UNICEF warns deteriorating conditions in Gaza threaten children’s health

GAZA, June 03 (YPA) – The UNICEF has warned that the worsening humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip are posing an increasing threat to children’s health, exposing them to disease and serious health risks.

In a post on the X platform, UNICEF highlighted the case of a child named Ahmed who was bitten by a rat while sleeping, describing the incident as an example of the deteriorating living conditions facing children in Gaza.

The agency said that accumulated waste, inadequate shelter, and the collapse of sanitation services are leaving children vulnerable to a range of health hazards.

UNICEF stressed that it is working to improve access to water and essential services, while renewing its call for unrestricted access to humanitarian supplies and basic materials needed to protect children and support civilian populations.

The organization warned that without urgent improvements in living conditions and humanitarian access, children in Gaza will continue to face growing health and protection challenges.
