President Al-Mashat says efforts ongoing to free all prisoners, restore Yemeni rights

SANAA, May 26 (YPA) – The head of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, Mahdi Al-Mashat, said efforts are ongoing to secure the release of all prisoners and to “restore the rights of the Yemeni people by all possible means.”

In a speech on occasion of Eid al-Adha, Al-Mashat said Eid al-Adha represents an important occasion for reaffirming Islamic principles, unity among Muslims, steadfastness on the path of truth, and readiness for sacrifice in the cause of Allah.

He stated that the gathering of pilgrims from different nations in Arafat and the rituals of Hajj reinforce the principles of Islamic unity and disavowal of the enemies of Islam.

The president stressed that the nation is in urgent need of unity, cohesion, and strengthening its capabilities to confront the Zionist-American enemy and its “New Middle East” project embodied in “Greater Israel.”

He said the ongoing Zionist aggression against Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Iraq reflects efforts to implement those plans across the region.

Al-Mashat also condemned the burning and desecration of the Holy Qur’an by American extremist Jake Lang, describing it as a direct assault on Islam carried out under official US protection and hostile anti-Islam policies.

He called on Muslim nations and peoples to adopt firm positions against anti-Islam policies and urged stronger economic and cultural boycott measures against those responsible for insulting Islamic sanctities.

The president welcomed the recently signed prisoner exchange agreement in Amman, affirming that the issue of prisoners and missing persons remains among the leadership’s highest priorities.

Al-Mashat renewed Yemen’s support for the causes of the nation, particularly Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran, while stressing the importance of confronting enemy conspiracies and misinformation campaigns aimed at fragmenting the internal front and distracting from key national issues.

He concluded by emphasizing that “awareness” remains the most important weapon in confronting enemy plots and attempts to undermine Yemen’s internal unity.
