SANAA, May 26 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rainfall across several Yemeni governorates over the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center said rainfall is expected in the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhalea, Dhamar, Raymah, and Al-Mahwit.
Scattered rain showers, occasionally accompanied by thunder, are also likely in parts of Amran, Hajjah, western Sana’a, Al-Bayda, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.
The center added that parts of the coasts of Shabwa, Hadramout, Mahra, and the Socotra Archipelago could experience varying levels of rainfall during the same period.
It also warned citizens against entering or crossing valleys and flood-prone areas during and after rainfall due to the risk of sudden flash floods.
Residents are advised to stay away from power poles and tall trees to avoid lightning strikes.
The center also warned fishermen and ship captains of rough sea conditions around the Socotra Archipelago and the Gulf of Aden.
