Israeli aggression destroys more than 56,000 hectares of agricultural land in Lebanon

BEIRUT, May 21 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture announced that more than 56,000 hectares of agricultural land in Lebanon have been damaged as a result of the Israeli aggression and the ongoing war targeting the agricultural sector.

The ministry explained that the damaged areas represent about 22.5% of the total agricultural area in the country, noting that production losses exceeded $530 million in addition to direct damages exceeding $41 million.

The ministry confirmed that the Israeli attacks caused widespread damage to land, crops, and agricultural infrastructure, exacerbating the challenges facing the Lebanese agricultural sector.
