Hamas warns of implications of Israeli “War Minister” Katz’s decision to begin executing Palestinian prisoners

GAZA, May 18 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has warned of the serious implications regarding the decision made by the Minister of War in the Israeli enemy government, the criminal Katz, to immediately begin implementing procedures for executing Palestinian prisoners.

The movement described the decision as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of all international norms, charters, and laws.

The movement emphasized that this criminal decision represents a new crime added to the occupation’s black record. It comes within the context of the open war waged against the Palestinian people and the targeting of prisoners inside prisons through policies of torture, abuse, and slow death.

Hamas held the Zionist enemy fully responsible for the repercussions of this dangerous escalation, stressing that these policies will not deter the Palestinian people from continuing their legitimate struggle to defend their land and holy sites.

The movement demanded that the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian institutions assume their legal and moral responsibilities, taking urgent action to pressure the Zionist enemy entity to retract the decision and hold its leaders accountable for their ongoing crimes.

This escalation comes after the Zionist “Knesset” ratified laws and measures paving the way for the execution of Palestinian prisoners, particularly detainees from the Gaza Strip.

This development occurs amid warnings from Palestinian prisoners’ institutions, which confirmed that these laws flagrantly violate international humanitarian law and human rights treaties, asserting that the enemy entity seeks through them to perpetuate a policy of genocide and revenge against Palestinian prisoners inside the prisons.
