Fierce clashes leave 6 dead, 7 wounded in Wadi Abida of Marib

MARIB, May 10 (YPA) – Wadi Abida, east of Marib city, which is under the control of the Islah Party, witnessed violent clashes between armed men from “Al Hassan Al Shabwan” and “Al Naseeb Al Abd”, resulting in approximately 13 dead and wounded amid increasing security collapse.

Local sources confirmed that the conflict, which stems from an old vendetta dating back to 2020, was renewed with the use of various types of heavy and medium weapons, resulting in the killing of 6 people — including three brothers from the sons of Sheikh Ali bin Jaber Al-Shabwani — and the serious injuring of 7 others.

While tension prevails in the region, tribal circles have accused the Islah Party authorities of “fueling strife” and exacerbating the conflict by supporting one side to ensure control, while tribal mediation by “Al Fajeeh” and the Ashraf has failed to contain the situation so far.

These events highlight the state of security chaos plaguing areas under the control of forces loyal to Saudi Arabia, and their inability to secure main roads and gas tankers.
