Zionist forces intercept aid ships bound for Gaza in international waters near Greece

ATHENS, April 30 (YPA) – Organizers of the Global Sumud Flotilla, a fleet of aid ships heading to the Gaza Strip, heading to the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday that Israeli occupation authorities boarded ships in international waters near Greece.

The organizers said that the interception of aid vessels bound for the Gaza Strip represents an escalation of Israel’s impunity.

The Global Sumud Flotilla initiative stated that Israeli occupation forces took control of the ships hundreds of miles away from Gaza.

In a statement, it said: “This is piracy and illegal detention in the open sea near the island of Crete. It confirms that Israel can operate with complete impunity, far from its borders, without facing any consequences.”

It is worth noting that a second flotilla carrying humanitarian aid sailed toward the Gaza Strip from Barcelona, Spain, on April 12, in an attempt to break the blockade imposed on the territory.
