Gaza: 9-year-old child killed in Israeli strike east of Khan Younis

GAZA, April 28, 2026 (YPA) – A 9-year-old child was killed on Tuesday morning in an Israeli airstrike east of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

According to the agency, The child, identified as Adel Lafi al-Najjar, was killed after Israeli aircraft targeted the area.

Earlier in the day, a woman was injured by Israeli occupation gunfire in northern Gaza, amid artillery shelling and strikes targeting several areas, including Beit Lahia and Jabalia refugee camp, as well as eastern Khan Younis.

With the child’s murder, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire on October 11, 2025, has risen to 818, while total injuries have exceeded 2,278. Meanwhile, 761 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble.
