TEHRAN, April 18 (YPA) – The Iranian news agency “Tasnim” reported on Saturday that Tehran has not yet agreed to a new round of negotiations with the United States, citing the US President’s announcement of a naval blockade on the country as a primary reason.
According to concerned sources cited by the agency, the persistence of “excessive US demands” in recent correspondences is hindering progress.
The sources emphasized that Washington must abandon these demands as a prerequisite for continuing the dialogue, stating that Iran seeks to avoid entering “futile and draining negotiations.”
Tehran has reportedly officially informed the US side of this position through Pakistani mediators.
