Pro-Saudi forces fire bullets at citizens’ homes in Shabwa

SHABWA, April 15 (YPA) – Pro-Saudi forces launched a large-scale attack on Wednesday targeting villages in the Wadi Yashbem area of Shabwa in southeastern Yemen, causing significant damage to civilian property, according to local sources.

Activists circulated footage showing homes belonging to members of the Al Salem Bin Doha tribe coming under heavy gunfire.

They said the assault was carried out by Saudi-backed units affiliated with Dera al Watan and “Shabwa Defense” forces, using machine guns in what they described as indiscriminate shelling.

No casualties were immediately reported, but the attack caused extensive material losses. Residents, including women and children, had reportedly fled the area prior to the raid.

The sources added that the operation was launched under the pretext of halting tribal clashes, but instead prompted local tribes to unite against the campaign, which they said targeted homes across the area without distinction.
