DHAMAR, April. 13 (YPA) – High school students were injured on Monday when a car carrying them overturned while they were on their way to take an exam in Mayfa’a Ans district, east of Dhamar governorate.
An educational source explained that a bus driven by a high school student, carrying eight female students from Khubaj and Al-Buraq High School, overturned while they were heading to the exam center at Luqman School in Sinban, which resulted in the students sustaining various fractures and bruises.
The source added that the bus driver, who was also a student taking the exam, suffered a severe injury that resulted in the amputation of his right hand.
The injured were immediately transferred to Dhamar General Hospital to receive first aid and necessary treatment, while the student driver was transferred to a hospital in the capital, Sana’a, for treatment.
After the accident, leaders from the governorate’s education office, headed by Deputy Director General of Education Saeed Al-Ghabri and Director of Education in Mayfa’a district Saleh Al-Amadi, went to check on the health of the injured, affirming that the leadership of the Ministry of Education would stand by them in the wake of this tragic incident.
