SANAA, April 12 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecast on Sunday heavy and intermittent thunderstorms across several province of Yemen.
In its weather bulletin, the center said heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms may be expected in Saada, Hajjah, Amran, Mahweet, Taiz, Ibb, Sanaa, Rayma, Dhamar, Hodeida, and the Tihama plains, while scattered showers are likely in Bayda, Dhalea, western Marib and Jawf, as well as the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.
The center warned of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, urging residents to avoid flood channels and refrain from crossing them during and after rainfall.
It also cautioned against thunderstorms, advising people to stay away from electricity poles and tall trees.
Additionally, motorists were warned of potential rockfalls, mudslides, and reduced visibility on roads, particularly in mountainous areas, due to rain and fog.
