BARCELONA, April 12 (YPA) – Organizers of the “Global Sumud Flotilla” announced that a new convoy of around 70 vessels from nearly 70 countries is set to sail from Barcelona once again on Sunday, carrying humanitarian aid for residents of Gaza.
The flotilla’s organizing committee said the mission would be the largest maritime effort aimed at delivering humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip and “breaking the illegal Israeli blockade.”
More than 1,000 volunteers from 70 countries are expected to depart on April 12, nearly doubling the size of the previous mission in September 2025.
Organizers also noted that partners in several countries along the flotilla’s route have pledged support, including political backing.
Israeli authorities previously intercepted a similar “ Global Sumud Flotilla” convoy in October 2025, detaining activists for several days before deporting them to their home countries.
