BEIRUT, April 10 (YPA) – About 15 civilians were killed and several others injured on Friday in a series of intense Israeli enemy’s airstrikes targeting multiple areas across Lebanon, including Nabatieh, Iqlim al-Tuffah, Baalbek, and other towns.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Nabatieh endured the most severe assault since the start of the current war, as the occupation’s warplanes carried out successive strikes hitting most neighborhoods and streets, causing widespread destruction.
The agency reported that airstrikes led to the destruction of several buildings and a “horrific massacre” at a State Security office, where eight personnel were killed in an initial toll. Emergency teams are continuing to transport the wounded to hospitals.
In Iqlim al-Tuffah, an occupation strike hit a car wash in the town square of Jbaa, killing six people, including the owner and his two sons, along with three other civilians.
Another strike on the town of al-Ansar, near Douris in the Baalbek area, left one civilian dead.
The Israeli artillery also shelled the town of Ain Baal near the “Lebanon al-Akhdar” station, targeting a nursery where Syrian workers were present. Ambulance teams are working to evacuate the injured to nearby hospitals.
The agency further reported that an Israeli strike targeted a man and his wife from the town of al-Mari while they were heading to a nearby orchard close to the border. The Lebanese Red Cross transported them to Hasbaya Governmental Hospital.
This escalation comes less than ten hours after the announcement of a ceasefire with Iran.
Since Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces have intensified their air campaign across several Lebanese regions, including Beirut, Sidon, and Baalbek, resulting in hundreds of casualties, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, as hospitals struggle with a surge in the number of wounded.
