Taiz: Violent clashes renew in Al-Wazi’iyah for sixth day amid shelling, casualties

TAIZ, April 07 (YPA) –  The Al-Wazi’iyah district in western Taiz governorate, southwest Yemen, witnessed a serious field escalation on Tuesday as violent clashes renewed between the UAE-backed Tariq Saleh’s militants and Al-Mishawala tribesmen for the sixth consecutive day.

Local sources reported massive explosions rocking the area, resulting from the use of heavy weaponry and drones targeting the villages of Hannah and Al-Shaqira. The attacks led to the death of a young man, Borhan Ali Taha Jaber, fanning the flames of tension in the region.

In response, the “Popular Resistance Council” affiliated with Islah Party in Al-Wazi’iyah issued a statement condemning the “systematic aggression” against civilians.

The Council demanded the immediate withdrawal of Saleh’s forces, the handover of military outposts to local tribal leaders, and the prosecution of those involved in the strikes, specifically citing the district’s security director.
