BERLIN, April. 05 (YPA) – The German city of Osnabrück witnessed a protest against Volkswagen’s production of weapons for Israel.
The protesters waved Palestinian flags and demanded that jobs at the Volkswagen plant be guaranteed through civilian production instead of weapons production.
They chanted slogans such as “Osnabrück must remain a city of peace” and marched to the city center.
They also demanded that the German government not allow the use of Ramstein Air Base for military operations around the world, and not allow the expansion of the NATO fuel depot in the town of Bramsche.
It is worth noting that Volkswagen is in talks to convert its Osnabrück plant to produce components related to the defense sector, including the possibility of manufacturing parts for air defense systems such as Israel’s “Iron Dome.”
