TEHRAN, April 05 (YPA) – Colonel Ibrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters affiliated with the Iranian armed forces, stated on Sunday that the operation described by the US military as a “rescue mission” for a pilot was a complete failure.
In an official statement, Zolfaghari explained that the operation had been planned as a deceptive maneuver involving a rapid withdrawal under the guise of rescuing a pilot whose aircraft had been downed at an abandoned airport south of Isfahan. However, he said, the plan collapsed due to the swift and timely response of the Iranian armed forces.
He further noted that subsequent field investigations revealed the destruction of two US C-130 military transport aircraft and two Black Hawk helicopters.
According to him, this outcome resulted from what he described as both the “divine promise” and the effective firepower of Iranian forces, adding to a series of losses for the US military.
Zolfaghari concluded that the incident demonstrated the failure of the US military in this act of aggression and challenges its image as a dominant force in the face of Iran’s armed forces.
He also accused the U.S. president of attempting to obscure the defeat through misleading statements and psychological tactics that, he claimed, do not reflect the reality on the ground.
