US-Israeli airstrikes hit residential areas in Iran as rescue efforts continue

TEHRAN, March 27 (YPA) – Residential areas in the city of Urmia, in western Iran, were reportedly targeted in strikes on Friday, as emergency teams continue search and rescue operations for survivors.

In a related development, an Iranian security official reported that six people were killed following an early morning strike on three residential buildings in the central city of Qom.

The reported incidents come a day after the United States allegedly carried out strikes early Thursday on two residential areas in Isfahan province.

Earlier this week, Dr. Pir-Hossein Koulivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, stated that 66 children under the age of five have been killed since the beginning of the US- Israeli aggression.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Deputy Health Minister said the attacks have damaged 190 medical facilities and forced 12 hospitals out of service.

Strikes carried out by the United States and “Israel” continue to hit civilian areas in the Islamic Republic of Iran, while Iranian armed forces respond by targeting US bases and interests in the region, as well as military and strategic sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
