Islah Party official survives assassination attempt in Marib

MARIB, March 19 (YPA) – Head of the Saudi-backed Islah Party’s “Technical Department,” Adel al-Rouhani, survived on Thursday an assassination attempt after an armed ambush targeted him on the Abr-Marib road while returning from Saudi Arabia.

According to the party’s media outlets, Al-Rouhani was attacked in Wadi Ubaida, sustaining multiple injuries before being rushed to a hospital in Marib for treatment. Three of his bodyguards were killed instantly at the scene.

The incident occurred amid rising security tensions and ongoing clashes between the party and other pro-Saudi factions. Observers suggested the escalation is part of a fierce struggle for control over oil and gas facilities in the Safer area.
