Thousands protest in London against US-Israeli war on Iran

LONDON, March 07 (YPA) – More than 50,000 people demonstrated in the streets of the British capital, London, to protest against the US-Israeli strikes on Iran.

The demonstration was organized by a coalition of organizations, including “the Palestine Solidarity Campaign,” “the Stop the War Movement,” and “the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.”

The protesters set off from Millbank towards the US Embassy in Vauxhall on Saturday afternoon.

For its part, the UK government announced on Saturday that the United States had begun using British bases in “defensive operations” against Iran in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The two bases are Fairford in Gloucestershire in southwest England, and Diego Garcia in the Chagos archipelago in the Indian Ocean.

A US C-5 Galaxy aircraft could also be seen on the runway of the base, around which an anti-war protest was organized.

US President Donald Trump had criticized the British PM Starmer’s stance against engaging in the war, saying, “This is not Winston Churchill we are dealing with.”
