GAZA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – A Palestinian woman was killed on Sunday morning by Israeli occupation fire at Beit Lahiya Square in the northern Gaza Strip.
Local Palestinian sources reported that Basma Aram Banat (27 years old) died after being shot by the Israeli army near the square. Eastern areas of the Strip have been witnessing daily gunfire, resulting in consistent civilian casualties.
As the Gaza Strip enters the fifth day of the holy month of Ramadan, Israeli warplanes and artillery have intensified their strikes:
A series of dawn airstrikes targeted the city of Rafah and eastern Gaza City.
Heavy tank fire and intense shooting were reported in the eastern parts of Al-Bureij camp, Gaza City, and Khan Yunis.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the humanitarian toll continues to rise. In its latest update on Saturday, the Ministry confirmed the total martyrs (since the end of the ceasefire) has reached 612, the total number of wounded is 1,640, the recovered bodies has reached 726.
