Hamas: West Bank land seizure is a “new crime” and prelude to full annexation

GAZA, Feb. 15 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned on Sunday the Israeli occupation government’s decision to seize vast tracts of occupied West Bank land by reclassifying them as “state lands.”

The movement described the move as a “dangerous escalation” and an actual prelude to the annexation of Palestinian territories.

In a press statement, Hamas asserted that this decision represents a “new crime” aimed at displacing the Palestinian people and confiscating their historical rights. It added that the occupation is using “legal cover” to cement its control over the land and expand its settlement project.

Hamas emphasized that all measures taken by the Israeli occupation to “legalize” land seizures are null and void, possessing “no legal standing.”

The movement concluded by warning of the decision’s repercussions on regional stability, affirming that the Palestinian people will continue to resist all confiscation and annexation schemes.
