MOSCOW, Feb. 15 (YPA) – Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 68 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the country’s Defense Ministry said in a statement.
“Over the past night, from 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on February 14 to 7:00 a.m. Moscow time on February 15, on-duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 68 Ukrainian drones over the Sea of Azov, the Krasnodar Region, the Republic of Crimea, the Kursk Region, the Stavropol Region, and the Black Sea,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, a Russian military source said that Ukrainian command in the Sumy region had increased the number of “unmotivated” soldiers at their positions by shortening training periods.
Sputnik news agency quoted the source on Sunday as saying that reducing the combat training period allowed for an increase in troop numbers, but their motivation “raises serious questions.”
The source added, “However, their motivation and morale are highly questionable, and for this reason the work of military police units has been intensified.”
Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said the army is successfully carrying out the task of establishing a security buffer zone along the border with the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
