Sanaa-based GPC approves dismissal of its two senior members

SANAA, Feb. 13 (YPA) – The general committee of the Sanaa-based General People’s Congress (GPC) party approved the dismissal of two leaders from the party membership, on the background of organizational violations attributed to them.

The decision came during a meeting held by the GPC’s general committee in Sanaa last Wednesday.

According to the “Congress Net” website, the committee was chaired by the deputy chairman of the party, secretary general Yahya Ali al-Ra’i, and was devoted to discussing developments on the national and organizational arenas.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the report of the regulatory oversight body concerning the members of the main Standing Committee, Younis Hazza and Naji Mohieddin, before approving, on the basis of the rules of procedure, the decision to dismiss them from the membership of the conference.

The meeting touched upon the developments of the political scene, reiterating the party’s commitment to Yemeni unity and its rejection of any attempts to harm it under any name.

It also stressed the importance of the awareness of the national forces of the accuracy of the current stage, and strengthening coordination and understanding to face what they considered challenges targeting the unity, sovereignty and independence of the country.
