SANAA, Feb. 13 (YPA) – Abdulwahid Abu Ras, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sanaa, criticized the UN Envoy Hans Grundberg’s periodic briefing to the Security Council, describing it as a continuation of “blatant fallacies” aimed at providing cover for the perpetuation and exploitation of the war.
In a statement to the official news agency “Saba” in Sanaa, Abu Ras emphasized that the core of the problem lies in foreign interventions led by the “Saudi regime,” noting that the formation of the rival government in Riyadh proves the Kingdom’s control over the conflict.
He clarified that the agreed-upon “Roadmap” was the result of direct negotiations exclusively between Sanaa and Riyadh, conducted under UN supervision.
Abu Ras noted that the roadmap confirmed it resulted from negotiations between Sanaa and Riyadh with no other parties involved.
He warned that Washington’s pressure on the Saudi regime to maintain the occupation and blockade will backfire on its “local tools.”
The deputy foreign minister stressed that international pressure regarding “espionage cells” will not deter the judiciary from its duty, considering the UN Envoy’s remarks on the Yemeni judiciary as unacceptable, warning of negative repercussions.
Abu Ras concluded by warning that the Saudi regime’s reliance on regional shifts to serve its expansionist ambitions in Yemen is a “miscalculated decision” that could lead to devastating consequences for its goals.
