Israeli occupation forces shoot Palestinian detainee inside military base

WEST BANK, Feb. 07 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army opened fire on Saturday evening at a Palestinian detained inside a military base in the Jordan Valley region of the eastern West Bank, following reports that he attacked a female soldier.

The army stated that the detainee managed to loosen his restraints and attacked a female soldier, causing her minor injuries, before another soldier opened fire to “neutralize” him.

“Israel’s” Channel 12 reported that the individual, a man in his fifties, sustained gunshot wounds to his knees and is in moderate condition. The report noted he had been arrested Friday at the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) crossing.

This incident occurs amid ongoing Israeli field escalations in the West Bank. According to Palestinian data, more than 1,112 Palestinians have been killed, with thousands more injured or detained since October 2023.
