Israeli occupation forces carry out widespread raids across West Bank, demolish home of Palestinian martyr
WEST BANK, Feb. 02 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of raids and arrests across multiple cities and towns in the occupied West Bank early Monday, detaining a number of Palestinian residents and demolishing the home of a Palestinian martyr.
According to Palestinian sources, Israeli forces demolished the home of Mahmoud Abed, identified as the assailant behind the “Gush Etzion” attack, in the town of Halhul, north of Hebron, after besieging it for several hours and rigging it with explosives.
In the town of Idhna, west of Hebron, the occupation forces arrested a citizen after raiding his home in the Al-Qarnah area.
Local sources in Halhul said a young man was severely beaten during a home raid, as part of what they described as a wider arrest campaign in the town at dawn.
A large Israeli military force, accompanied by bulldozers, also entered the city of Jenin from several directions. Israeli drones were reported flying at low altitude over the city, raising concerns among residents about possible surveillance or targeting.
In Bethlehem, the occupation forces closed all entrances to the town of Tuqu’, southeast of the city, restricting residents’ movement.
Raids were also reported in the town of Qaffin, north of Tulkarm, where homes were searched and property damaged, according to residents.
In East occupied Quds (Jerusalem), the occupation forces conducted raids in Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr ‘Aqab, setting up temporary checkpoints.
In Nablus, Israeli forces entered villages east of the city, searched several homes, and detained a number of residents.
