Israeli occupation escalates in West Bank by raids, arrests, settler attacks target education, livelihoods

WEST BANK, Feb. 01 (YPA) – The occupied West Bank has witnessed an intensive wave of field escalation by Israeli occupation forces and settlers since dawn on Sunday.

The operations included large-scale military raids and attacks targeting residential homes, educational institutions, and civilian livelihoods.

Large occupation forces stormed the Balata camp and the eastern area of Nablus. Meanwhile, the Abu Zahir neighborhood and the main market in Jenin saw deliberate vandalism of street vendors’ property, alongside the arrest of Mohamed Dwabsha from the village of Duma.

Zionist settlers from the “Havat Gilad” outpost launched an attack with stones and dogs on the home of Hijazi Yamin’s family in the village of Far’ata near Qalqilya, in an attempt to intimidate and displace them.

Settlers obstructed teachers from reaching the Al-Maleh school in the northern Jordan Valley. Simultaneously, a new settlement outpost was established in “Khirbet Samra” to seize more pastoral lands.

Israeli occupation forces continued to close the main entrance to Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, for the second consecutive day. This comes as the number of military checkpoints in the West Bank has risen to 916, including 243 gates installed after October 7.

These violations are part of a systematic “collective punishment” policy aimed at restricting Palestinian daily life across the territories.
