SANAA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – Sanaa’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met on Monday with Mohamed Al-Ghannam, Director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, to discuss areas of mutual cooperation and strategies for their enhancement.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed Sanaa’s support for the efforts led by the UN Special Envoy and all initiatives aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just peace in Yemen.
Abu Ras emphasized the necessity for the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities and rectify performance imbalances observed in the previous period. He further expressed the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities to international organizations operating in Yemen in order to ensure the success of their humanitarian and developmental mandates.
For his part, Al-Ghannam reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to continuing its efforts to achieve peace in Yemen and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
