Elderly Palestinian woman dies from extreme cold in southern Gaza Strip

GAZA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – An elderly Palestinian woman died early Monday morning from the extreme cold in the southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported the death of Zainab Muhammad Musbah, 63, from the severe cold. She was found frozen in front of her tent in the Mawasi area of ​​Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip announced Saturday that the number of child deaths caused by cold weather since the start of the current winter season has risen to 10.

Since December, the Gaza Strip has experienced several severe weather systems, leading to the deaths and injuries of Palestinians from extreme cold and the collapse of buildings previously damaged by Israeli bombardment, as well as the displacement tents of tens of thousands of people being blown away, flooded, or damaged.
