In video:15-meter-deep Emirati prisons unearthed in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 18 (YPA) – A media figure affiliated with the Hadramout Tribe Alliance (HTA), Sabri bin Mukhashen, has revealed what he described as serious information concerning the existence of a complex network of secret prisons allegedly operated by UAE forces.

According to bin Mukhashen, these facilities were constructed entirely underground at strategic locations in the provinces of Hadramout and Shabwa.

Over the past hours, he published video footage and documentary materials, including detailed maps identifying the locations of the alleged prisons.

Mukhashen stated that the facilities were constructed at depths of up to 15 meters below ground level, with some extending between 60 and 70 meters in length, a design he described as a deliberate attempt to conceal them from satellite surveillance and international inspection teams.

Based on the information he presented, several of these facilities are located within Al-Rayyan Airport in the city of Mukalla. He said the sites were distributed between coastal-adjacent areas and others camouflaged by dense vegetation to ensure maximum secrecy.

Bin Mukhashen further claimed that following the withdrawal of UAE forces from the airport, storage devices, documents, and photographs were discovered, which he said directly documented detention operations inside these facilities, adding added that the documents are not limited to Al-Rayyan Airport.

According to the released documents, several undeclared detention facilities were also identified within the Al-Dabba oil port on the Hadramout coast, and that some of these sites were later subjected to deliberate erasure in an apparent attempt to conceal their features.

Bin Makhshin also reported documents of similar detention sites inside the Belhaf gas facility in Shabwa province, which he said were hidden under existing infrastructure to prevent their discovery.

He stated that he had information identifying the companies and contractors allegedly involved in the construction of these facilities, calling for an urgent and comprehensive international investigation, including excavations at the site.

The HTA’s media figure described the sites as potential evidence of serious violations that could amount to crimes against humanity committed on Yemeni soil.
