Palestinian infant dies from extreme cold in Khan Younis

GAZA, Jan. 17 (YPA) – A 27-day-old infant died on Saturday due to the extreme cold in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.

According to medical sources, the infant Aisha Ayesh al-Agha passed away in the city of Khan Younis due to the severe cold.

Over 20 children in the Gaza Strip have died from extreme cold after being forced to live in fragile tents that offer no protection against frost, following severe weather since the start of the Israeli war on October 7, 2023.

It is reported that 10,000 families along the Gaza coast were flooded, and their homes were destroyed by the recent storm. The situation in the territory is the worst since the start of the severe weather.
