WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (YPA) – The US has asked its European allies for intelligence on potential targets in the event of a strike on Iran, The Washington Post reported.
According to its sources among European officials, representatives of US President Donald Trump’s administration on January 12 “asked to share intelligence on possible targets within Iran.”
At the moment, there are “no indications that President Trump will target nuclear facilities,” a source told the newspaper.
Earlier on Tuesday, the White House held a National Security Council meeting, chaired by Vice President JD Vance, to prepare options for action on Iran for Trump.
Earlier on Wednesday, Iran’s mission to the United Nations called on the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General to condemn US interference in Iran’s internal affairs, as well as threats of force following statements made by US President Donald Trump.
In a written message, the mission stated: “The Secretary-General and the Security Council, particularly their responsible members, must fulfill their obligations under the UN Charter by unconditionally condemning all forms of incitement to violence, threats of the use of force, and interference in Iran’s internal affairs by the United States.”
