Iran threatens heavy retaliation against any aggression, citing surprise military capabilities

TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (YPA) – Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasserzadeh issued on Monday strong warnings against any hostile actions targeting the country’s security.

In press statements, he stressed that the Iranian armed forces have “sudden” military options capable of inflicting heavy losses and sustained damage to any aggressor.

Naserzadeh added that any aggression or reckless adventure targeting Iranian interests would be met with a decisive response that is not limited to a specific geographical area.

He explained that Iran’s response will target the interests of the aggressors wherever they are, if the country’s sovereignty or its vital facilities are threatened.

The Minister also issued a direct warning to countries that may allow the use of their airspace or military bases to facilitate an attack on Iran, stressing that these countries will be considered legitimate targets by the Iranian armed forces and will bear full responsibility for the consequences of their involvement in any aggression.

Naserzadeh concluded by stressing the high state of readiness of the Iranian armed forces and the advancement of its internal defense capabilities, noting that Iran possesses surprise elements that can change the calculations of any party considering military action, making any possible aggression a costly project with serious and unpredictable consequences.
