Gold prices hit new record highs in Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 11 (YPA) – Gold prices in Yemen surged to record levels this Sunday, marking significant new highs across jewelry markets in both Aden and Sanaa.

Market Trends in Sanaa

In areas under the Sanaa government, the price of a gold pound reached 534,000 YER, while 21-karat gold was priced at 68,000 YER per gram. This reflects a sharp weekly increase of 7,000 YER per pound and 3,000 YER per gram.

Since the beginning of the new year, gold prices in Sanaa have climbed by a total of 10,000 YER per sovereign and 1,200 YER per gram.

Market Trends in Aden

In the markets governed by the Aden authorities, the gold pound hit 1,650,000 YER, and 21-karat gold reached 214,000 YER per gram. This represents a massive jump compared to last week’s rates, with increases exceeding 57,000 YER per pound and 6,000 YER per gram.

Total gains since the start of the year in Aden have reached a record 86,000 YER per sovereign and 10,000 YER per gram.
