TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (YPA) -Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that “in the event of aggression against Iran, US bases in the region and the occupied territories would be within range of our fire,” emphasizing that Tehran would confront what he described as a terrorist campaign being waged from within.
Speaking during a parliamentary session, Ghalibaf said Iran would respond decisively to any US attack, and that American bases, as well as Israeli facilities in the region, could be considered legitimate targets.
He said external enemies had sought to exploit public demands inside Iran and were now conducting an internally driven terrorist campaign following their failure in a recent military confrontation.
He added that the Iranian people had resisted the pressure and demonstrated national unity and resilience.
Ghalibaf further noted that the US president had publicly expressed support for the campaign against Iran, but said Tehran would counter and neutralize these efforts.
The parliament speaker said Iran recognizes the right to peaceful protest, while emphasizing that authorities would act firmly against terrorism and Daesh-linked elements. Relevant agencies, he said, would pursue those responsible for attacks on public property and causing casualties or material damage.
Ghalibaf concluded by saying that security would be restored in the coming days, noting a decline in unrest observed the previous day.
