SANAA, Dec. 24 (YPA) – The Chairman of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee in Sanaa, Abdulqader al-Mortada, announced on Wednesday the signing of a comprehensive agreement to recover and hand over the remains of those killed across all combat fronts and regions.
In a statement posted on his “X” platform account (formerly Twitter), al-Mortada clarified that the agreement was signed by all involved parties. He noted that the process will be carried out under the direct auspices and supervision of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The signing will be followed by the formation of specialized field committees to begin practical implementation on the ground, al-Mortada added.
This development is seen as a significant humanitarian step toward resolving one of the most sensitive files of the conflict, raising hopes for further progress regarding prisoners and missing persons.
