UN rejects, opposes any changes to Gaza borders

GAZA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The United Nations announced its categorical rejection of statements by an Israeli official who claimed that “the yellow line in Gaza represents the new border,” emphasizing its complete opposition to any change to the borders of Gaza and Israel.

The spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, said at the daily press briefing Tuesday evening, in response to a question about statements by the Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, regarding the yellow line in Gaza: “We categorically oppose any change to the borders of Gaza and Israel.”

Dujarric pointed out that this statement contradicts the spirit and letter of the peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, explaining that the United Nations, when referring to Gaza, relies on the existing borders between Gaza and Israel, not the yellow line.

Two days ago, Zamir, said the “yellow line” separating areas under Hamas’s control from those under Israeli control now represents the “new border” between Israel “and the Gaza Strip.

The yellow line is to which the occupation army withdrew as part of implementing the first phase of President Trump’s plan to end the war on Gaza.
