Civil defense puts out two fires in Capital Sanaa

SANAA, Dec. 08 (YPA) -Civil Defense teams in the capital Sanaa put put two separate fires on Monday, with no human casualties reported.

Sources in the Civil Defense authority stated that the first fire broke out in a five-story house in Old Sana’a City, owned by citizen Adel Mohammed Al-Sawari.

Civil Defense firefighters from Al-Luqiya Police Station successfully contained the flames, which were concentrated on the fifth floor, preventing them from spreading to the rest of the building.

The blaze caused minor material damage, including burnt wood on the roof and a damaged water tank. Civil Defense sources indicated that negligence is the most likely cause, pending final inquiry results.

In a separate incident, a fire erupted in an “Eco”-type car belonging to citizen Mohammed Thabit Al-Yafai in Al-Tahrir Directorate.

Civil Defense teams from Al-Shaheed Al-Mulassi Police Center responded to the incident and managed to extinguish the fire, resulting in partial burning of the vehicle. Investigations are underway to determine the cause.

The Civil Defense Authority renewed its call for adherence to security, public safety, and self-protection measures to prevent various risks.
