“Israel” praises UAE-funded STC’s control over Yemeni Hadramout

SANAA, Dec. 08 (YPA) – A senior Israeli geopolitical expert has praised what he described as the brilliant military successes of the UAE-affiliated factions that have imposed their control over the past days on the city of Seiyun and vital facilities in the oil-rich Hadramout province in eastern Yemen.

Avi Avidan, the Israeli geopolitical expert, confirmed in a post on X that “the UAE=backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces captured Seiyun brilliantly without much resistance, considering that this put “Yemen’s largest oil reserves under the control of the ambitious “southern coalition”, in addition to controlling the al-Maashiq presidential palace in Aden and Seiyun International Airport in Hadramout.

Avidan not only described the developments as a military success, but also went further and considered them part of the “genius the UAE created with a pincer strategy with “Israel”, indicating that these pincers would aim to outdo the Sanaa forces at every turn, starting from the strategic island of Socotra, which contains joint intelligence centers between the UAE and “Israel”, to Aden, and the vast area of Hadramout.

The Israeli expert added that this control would work to secure ports, oil and trade routes that affect 30% of global shipping, referring to the vital sea lanes off the Yemeni coast.

Analyzing the results of the joint Emirati-Israeli strategy, Avidan saw that the Sanaa forces have become “besieged”, describing the Yemeni capital as “more like a calculated meat grinder, deprived of fuel, weapons and revenues,” considering that this achievement was achieved without the need for a ground military operation of the UAE or “Israel.”

He linked these ground developments with the announced Israeli role, saying: “Israel controls the sky and the sea, and has been launching raids against the Houthis since 2023, “explaining that this led to the transformation of the naval forces with its allies in the Red Sea into an impenetrable barrier against Iranian weapons.

The Israeli expert described what is happening in Hadramout as a redefinition of efficiency, considering it a smart empowerment of proxies, and a dominance based on technology, in contrast to what he described as endless swamps like previous Saudi effort.

Avidan touched upon the political dimension of the alliance, praising the Emirati role, which he said that it “creates a secular southern fortress” by financing 120 thousand STC fighters against threats targeting “Israel”.

He also praised the pledge made by the STC’s head, Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, during last September, to join the South Yemen to “the Brahimi agreements”, considering this to consolidate this entity as an “impregnable fortress against Iran”.

Additionally, Avidan did not stop praising “Israel”‘s partners in Yemen, but he expanded to see that a security revolution exports stability to Puntland in Somalia, Libya Haftar, and even the networks of the Rapid Support forces in Sudan, stressing that “these pliers will not go away soon”.

He concluded his post by depicting a future vision that he participates in creating, saying: “dismantling the hotbeds of terrorism in Yemen, governorate by province, to establish the UAE and Israel a safer, prosperous, integrated and terrorism-free Middle East”.

Avidan said the second Ibrahim agreements was not a dream; it will be a victory,” noting that the UAE “deserves all praise for achieving this goal to free the United States from the burden of security stability in the Middle East.

This frank and unprecedented Israeli tribute in its details comes at a time when the provinces of Hadramout and Mahra have been witnessed accelerated military and political movements that are reshaping the map of influence in eastern and southern Yemen, amid a noticeable international and regional silence.
