HADRAMOUT, Dec. 04 (YPA) – New clashes erupted, on Thursday, in the border areas between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the arrival of the first units of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia.
Media sources, citing tribal sources, reported that clashes are currently taking place along the Al-Abr line, near the Al-Wadi’ah border crossing.
They explained that the clashes followed an attack by the STC militia on forces of the 21st Mica Brigade, part of the Saudi-backed Third Military Region, which is responsible for managing the Al-Abr file and the border areas with Saudi Arabia.
The STC militia’s expansion of its deployment along the Saudi border comes despite the Kingdom’s attempts to contain developments in Hadramout through an agreement that would end the STC’s military presence.
