Two Israeli soldiers wounded in West Bank stabbing

RAMALLAH, Dec. 02 (YPA) – Two Israeli soldiers were injured on Tuesday morning in a stabbing operation carried out by a Palestinian near in the “Ateret” settlement north of Ramallah in the occupied central West Bank.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Israeli forces opened fire on the Palestinian who carried out the stabbing attack near the settlement.

The occupation army said its forces shot the attacker between the towns of Ateret and Umm Safa, near Ramallah.

Israel’s public broadcaster KAN said a Palestinian stabbed two Israelis on Tuesday morning before Israeli forces shot and “neutralized” him.

According to medical sources, emergency teams from Magen David Adom treated two people who sustained minor injuries.

The Hebrew daily newspaper  “Israel Hayom”,  reported that the assailant later died from his wounds after being shot by Israeli soldiers.

Palestinian sources said that the occupation forces heavily deployed along the road between Ateret and Umm Safa following the attack.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that Israeli forces prevented medical teams from reaching a person wounded by gunfire near the said village.

In a statement, the PRCS affirmed that its crews are currently coordinating with the international Committee of the Red Cross in an attempt to reach the injured individual.
