New espionage case linked to CIA referred to Criminal Court in Sanaa
SANAA, Dec. 01 (YPA) – The Specialized Criminal Prosecution Office in the Capital Secretariat, Sanaa, on Monday referred a new case involving an enemy espionage cell, linked to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), to the Criminal Court.
According to the Sanaa-based official “Saba News Agency,” the Head of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution Office, Judge Abdullah Zuhra, explained that the case involves 12 arrested defendants who are part of a US-Israeli spy network. These individuals have carried out espionage and sabotage roles in official and unofficial institutions for decades on behalf of the enemy, through elements directly linked to the CIA.
The referral follows a previous ruling by the Specialized Criminal Court in the Capital Secretariat on November 22, which sentenced 17 defendants to death, two others to ten years in prison, and acquitted two in a separate espionage case involving the American, Israeli, and Saudi intelligence services.
