Israeli lawmakers demand tour in Gaza as prelude to resuming settlements

OCCUPIED QUDS, Nov. 27 (YPA) – An influential settlement lobby group in the Israeli Knesset, headed by two lawmakers from the far-right parties “Jewish Power” and “Religious Zionism,” sent a letter to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant demanding permission for a tour inside the Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli Channel 12 on Thursday, the goal of the tour, which they proposed to start from the northern border area of Gaza under military control, is to prepare for an event titled “Raising the Flag in Gaza” and pave the way for resuming settlements in the Strip.

The group asserted in its letter that the depopulated area under full military control “highlights the possibility of resuming settlements.” This request contradicts the plan of U.S. President Donald Trump.
